Health Concerns: Men’s Health
Statistically, men visit their doctors less often than women and have fewer tests ordered. When they do, it’s often to check specific complaints rather than have routine tests.
“If it isn’t broken then don’t fix it”. Some men will stick to this motto for everything, including their own bodies. But your body won’t always tell you when something is broken. There are many silent ailments that can cause big health problems. Luckily, basic health prevention education can go a long way.
For men, growing older can be a time of change–perhaps shifting family responsibilities, a career change, retirement, traveling or starting a new hobby. Men can proactively take care of their health as they age with annual physicals, a well-balanced diet, exercise, and by following preventative health strategies from a integrative health team.
